Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC Fundamentals with FCC Simulator) Hybrid (Includes Web-Based Training)

Course Overview

Pre-Requisite: This course has a Web-Based Training pre-requisite that must be completed by the registrant prior to the commencement of the course. The Web-Based Training module explores the key technical topics and background of a commercial FCC unit through a detailed scope designed to further enhance knowledge retention. Details on how to access and complete the web-based training will be sent to the registrant’s email address a minimum of 30 days prior to the commencement of the course.

We will be offering this course both in person and virtually. Virtual participants will log on during the live course, which meets during Central Standard Time.

Who Should Attend

You are new to the UOP FCC unit and need to know how to optimize the operation of the unit. You will start at the beginning by discussing how the UOP FCC unit fits into the overall refinery processing scheme, how it may process various feedstocks, how product selectivity can be controlled, and FCC catalyst fluidization basics. Participants will discuss process flow, process control, equipment, how to calculate the heat balance, and catalyst management. The course emphasizes the technology aspects of the UOP FCC unit and includes important process calculations that can be used to troubleshoot FCC problems, including cyclone velocities, superficial velocities, distributor pressure drops and more. Participants will have the opportunity to step through procedures using UOP’s FCC Simulator. Through lecture, team work, and exercises, participants will gain the fundamentals to troubleshoot common FCC Unit issues.

Attendance is limited to UOP license holders.
